New Poster: Rheological characterisation of human lung surfactant monolayers and the effects of exposure to inhaled compounds

The poster outlines the products of collaboration with the NFA in Denmark with whom SEAC has developed a means of quantitatively determining the effects of xenobiotics on human lung surfactant. We have demonstrated that the curves produced by the novel assay developed at NFA can be fitted by means of a Fourier analysis of the surface pressure response curves. Our results offer a novel means to quantitatively describe the influences of chemical species and dose on lung surfactant in vitro.
