Announcement: Unilever honoured by the Humane Society of the United States for industry-leading work to end animal testing

As part of Unilever’s commitment to ending animal testing, we have a growing number of brands that ensure that neither their products – nor the ingredients they use – are subject to animal testing by suppliers or by regulatory authorities and are certified as such by animal welfare groups.  This includes our largest brand Dove, demonstrating the brand’s commitment not just to care for women’s and men’s skin and hair but to also care for the planet and everyone on it—including animals.  In 2018, Unilever changed the landscape by being the first large multi-national cosmetics company to announce its support for a global ban on animal testing, initiating a new multi-party collaboration with Humane Society International to accelerate the regulatory acceptance of non-animal safety assessment approaches globally.  The Humane Society have recognised Unilever’s long-standing investment and influence in non-animal approaches through their 2019 Corporate Consciousness Award.
